Digital Video
I may be reading the schedule wrong but I think we are now moving on to digital video. Either way, I'm ready to move on : ) I really like using the digital video in the classroom and I plan on making more movies with my kids this year. I think that even my first graders would be able to use the flip video, as for doing the editing...we would just have to see. I really like all of these ideas and it is fun to think of ways to incorporate them into my classroom...but I am working with 6 year olds. A good day for us in the computer lab is for eveyone to accomplish a task and get printed. Anyone out there ever try to use digital editing with kids this little?

I haven't tried digital editing with 6 years olds. It seems like it would be a bit to much. They could probably film with the camera. I've seen the movie you made with your class. It was great! I think if your students were to edit the movie time would play a big role and you may lose the "worth it factor".
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your video and you have inspired me to use video with my kindergarten students. HOWEVER, I too can not foresee having the students do any editing. Yes, I imagine there may be a few that see this as a "good learning experience" for them (to be exposed to the process), but really does it meet your "worth it" factor? I think not...
ReplyDeleteI have never tried editing with 6 year olds, let alone my 5 year olds. I wouldn't have a clue as where to start. Possibly doing the editing as an entire class ??
